BISER representatives at the 15th BS NGO Network Forum in Iceland

The XVth Baltic Sea NGO Network Forum took place on 18-20 May, 2017 at the Duus Museum, Art, and Cultural Center of Reykjanesbær, in Iceland. With the ongoing exhibition “Animals Great and Smallˮ, a part of the children’s art festival, the participants were surrounded by artwork from a different level ranging from kindergarten to high school. The exhibition lined with the priorities of the Icelandic Presidency; Children, Democracy, and Equality, which are cornerstones in Baltic Sea regional cooperation.

The CBSS CSO Chair, Ambassador Guðmundur Árni Stefánsson, and the CBSS Deputy Director General, Bernd Hemingway, highlighted the importance of children’s rights, equal opportunity for all citizens and the great need to form a dialogue about the significance of upholding democratic values. Kjartan Kjartansson, Major of Reykjanes Town, Bogi Ágústsson, President of the Nordic Association and Unnur Brá Konráðsdóttir, president of Althingi all gave inspiring speeches on the subject in honor of H.E. Vigdís Finnbogadóttir.
