Why are the small local actors so important to us?




They are an extremely important element of democracy – on a local scale:

  • express the aspirations and unmet needs of small communities
  • create and differentiate social opinion
  • act in favour of minority interests
  • care about the common good
  • are an element of social integration
  • support the development of many important areas of life
  • support business development
  • initiate social changes and raise social awareness
  • have an intervention function
  • complement the state’s activities
  • prepare for work and educate leaders, and in many cases they also employ
